Working Principles
The rotary trommel screen consists of a slightly inclined rotating drum with multiple screen sections of different apertures. Material is fed into the inlet end of the drum. As the drum rotates, smaller particles pass through the screen openings and are collected in separate hoppers below, while larger particles move along the drum and are discharged from the outlet end.
- Dry type trommel: Used for screening dry materials such as coal, gravel and construction waste
- Wet type/scrubbing trommel: Equipped with water spray nozzles and internal lifting plates to scrub and wash materials, ideal for alluvial gold, tin ore and other high-clay content minerals
