Working Principles
The desliming cone consists of an inverted conical tank with a central feed pipe, an overflow weir at the top and an underflow discharge valve at the bottom. Ore slurry is fed tangentially into the cone through the central feed pipe, creating a gentle rotational flow. Under the combined action of gravity and centrifugal force, coarser and denser particles settle rapidly to the cone wall and slide down to the bottom, where they are discharged as underflow (deslimed product). Fine slime particles and water remain suspended in the upper part of the cone and overflow from the top weir as tailings.
The classification efficiency can be adjusted by changing the feed flow rate, slurry concentration and underflow valve opening, making it adaptable to a wide range of material characteristics.
