Working Principle
The centrifugal concentrator operates on the principle of enhanced gravity separation. Ore slurry is fed into the center of a rapidly rotating conical bowl. Under the influence of strong centrifugal force, denser heavy minerals (such as gold, platinum and tungsten) settle against the inner wall of the bowl and become trapped in the specially designed riffles. Lighter gangue particles remain suspended in the slurry and are carried over the top of the bowl as tailings. Periodically, high-pressure backwash water is injected to flush the concentrated heavy minerals from the riffles into the concentrate collection tank.
